‘A unique individual who can mix people development with strong analytical skills and business acumen’, said ex-colleague Jane W. about Wim.
I spent 20 years in multinational companies in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa selling, building and project managing technology projects, and developing $B businesses. Before that, I graduated as a telecom engineer with a business economics degree.
In 2007, I co-created a company that offered workshops on body-mind consciousness.
Recently, my diploma in Corporate Governance opened the doors to non-executive or independent director positions.
An alternative bio of Wim:
• I lift up people to become their best selves (even when they do not want it themselves)
• I have a strong commercial flair and customer focus (there is no ‘off-button' for this)
• I understand engineers (even when they don't talk)
• I speak English, French, German, Dutch (and, in wintertime, also Spanish)
• I am kind and provocative, observant and witty (on a good day)
• I wrote and published a book on young Japanese workers
• I renovated historical houses in Brussels
• I sheltered a homeless person in my house and had lunch with people having $10B on their bank account
• I lived in 6 countries and traveled in 55 (and to offset this carbon footprint, did not have any children)
• I practice yoga, meditate, do journaling and love walking my dog (all preferably on a sunny beach)
